CCleaner is a must have, multi-purpose utility for anyone running a Microsoft Windows operating system. CCleaner has an excellent registry cleaner, disk cleanup, and startup item editor.

The Cleanup section is great to use if you are running low on hard drive space, or if you prefer to keep your system tidy. The disk cleanup will remove temporary internet files, cookies, history, and more.

The Cleaner section works well, removing invalid and inconsistent entries from your Windows registry. One quirk that I have noticed is that you have to scan and clean almost three times before CCleaner shows that there is nothing left to clean. Scanning and cleaning is fast so this is never a huge issue.

The Tools section offers a startup items editor allowing you to remove items from your system startup. There is also a program uninstaller. I prefer this uninstaller to the Windows "Add/Remove Programs" method. With CCleaner, you can actively uninstall several programs at a time.
